Lately, our primary topic of conversation has been FOOD. Why? A) Because we work and live in the Triangle, and the Triangle is host to an amazing selection of extraordinarily good food, and B) because food is extraordinarily good for the soul!

Southern Living Magazine recently published a list for the top 100 Best Restaurants in the South. Out of that list, several were from North Carolina, including six in and around the Triangle area. That's a pretty big deal...

Four Triangle area cities were among the South's elite best: Chapel Hill, Durham, Raleigh and Pittsboro.

Chapel Hill

Lantern - Downtown Chapel Hill's Lantern is known for its beautiful combination of Asian flavors with North Carolina grown, fresh ingredients, many of which are hyper local. Click here to learn more about this top-rated restaurant!

Crook's Corner - Chef Bill Smith tops delicious Southern Cuisine charts with his divine take on classic recipes. Once you've tried the Shrimp & Grits, no other version will suffice. Click here to see today's menu!

Durham

Mateo Tapas - Located in the heart of downtown Durham and its epic revival, Mateo Tapas is a Spanish-inspired cantina where Chef Matt Kelly's indelible menu features dynamite dishes that brilliantly blend Southern and Spanish cuisine. Learn more about Mateo Tapas here

Raleigh

Poole's Diner - At Poole's Diner, you just may find true love...with Chef Ashley Christensen's heavenly creations, that is. All that truly needs mentioning is the smoked tomato pie with whipped cream made from sweet corn. Is your mouth watering yet? See the link for more...

Stanbury - If you're looking for a restaurant that is dedicated to highlighting our region's local farmers, then Stanbury may have to be your next destination. According to Southern Living, the must-try menu item is Steak Tartare with nuoc cham vinaigrette, peanuts, mint, Thai basil, cilantro, and crab chips. Unimaginable goodness.

Pittsboro

The Fearrington House Restaurant - This restaurant is a true treasure of North Carolina. Executive Chef Colin Bedford has perfected the farm-to-fork menu, and the beautiful scenery that will surround you as you partake will hold your eyes - and your heart - hostage with its rustic and classic beauty. Fearrington is mere minutes from Chapel Hill, so if you're a Triangle resident and you've yet to experience The Fearrington House Restaurant, make plans to visit today!
